I shot this wedding in Ft. Worth and we had a lot of fun! Mike & Vinita have been a dream to work with from the engagements, bridals, rehearsal, and finally wedding day. I can't wait to see which images will go in their album. Maybe some of my favorites as showcased here. I think the groom resembles George Clooney!
They have a saying in Texas, "If you don't like the weather, wait 10 min. & it will change!" How true that is! Yesterday I photographed the Westerberg family. We were literally sweating as it was humid and 80 degrees. With in 2 hours the temp. dropped to the 50's. Over night my husband and I awoke to loud claps of thunder prompting us to think our house had nearly been hit, thankfully it wasn't. Today it is sleeting, icy, and snowing. Welcome to Texas - it'll probably be 80 again in a couple of days!
One thing that great about what I do is becoming a bridal couple's family photographer. Here are some shots of their beautiful daughter, Emilee, and one with mom Kimberlee.
I've been crazy busy lately as the Holidays are fast approaching. Here is a small sampling of some of my favorite shots. This is my busiest time of year and I love it!
I just got to photograph Isabella and Joaquin, sister and brother. They are very special to me as I have been photographing them each since they were born in the hospital. There mom always tries to do something special and fun for pictures. I like to joke that their house is like the Margaret Lake Photography Gallery! For Christmas this year she decided to focus on their Mexican heritage with authenic clothing and lots of color and fun. Wrangling that donkey wasn't easy but he was pretty harmless - now the Longhorn, he kind of scared me, can you tell we're in Texas? Their dad took us all out to this field on a hunting cart at sunset, if those animals wanted to get ornary we weren't left with too many choices. It was like being on a mini-photo safari with the kids as the best subjects!
I shot these gals at a recent wedding relying on the lights on stage and no flash. This was the result of one of them. My husband said the image creeped him out!
I was at a wedding Sat. Oct. 14 and borrowed my associates Nikon D200 digital camera. It's the same camera I'm thinking about buying so I thought I'd do some experimenting with it at the wedding I was a guest at. The groom's mom and my mom were very close friends for over 20 years until the groom's mom passed away due to cancer. It was very emotional and we were all really remembering Pattye. The neat thing is that she knew Angela, the bride, and loved her. This was a casual and fun wedding in Denton County, Texas. I love the shot of the kids playing on the putting green with the shoes of one of the flower girls. Kids are great to shoot at weddings because they are so natural. Here they are playing tag and pretty much unaware of me - true documentary-style, I love the story-telling aspect of it!
One thing I love about what I do is being able to create continous family heirlooms. I photographed Megan's bridals, Ryan & Megan's engagmenet, wedding, and now their new addition, their doggie Nigel! This train station is a fun place to play for all ages. They are SO cute, cute, cute!
