Christina

I shot this at Chandor Gardens in Weatherford on Sept. 29, 2007. The bride saw a similar pose on their brochure so this is our version. Well, one of several but they were all great!

Vietnam Memorial

Of course, this is always a somber place. There was a letter written from a soldier who basically was apologizing to his superior officer who had died that he hadn't lived the life he should have. It was like he was taking inventory of his life and trying to make amends. It was very touching.

Cool Stuff at the Lincoln Memorial

It's hard to see but there is a marker for where Martin Luther King Jr. gave his famous speech. Also, the little museum had cool little things.

Lincoln Museum

Did you know there is a museum underneath the Lincoln Memorial? Neither did we! It's near the elevator on the left side as you face the monument. It's been there since the 80's. We were very surprised as we've been here many times!

Lincoln Memorial

Well, like many people, the Lincoln Memorial is my favorite monument because Lincoln is my favorite President. Plus, standing there, it just reminds you of so much, like the "I have a dream" speech, and all the other historic things that have happened on that spot including all the movies that are filmed there from Mr. Smith Goes to Washington to Forrest Gump and many more. It was interesting seeing the water drained from the reflection pool as I'd never seen that before. Kind of gloomy but different so I liked it. That's Byron in the foreground looking 'reflective'.

Not too Comfy!

I guess I have to admire that they are dedicated to their cause but 20 degrees would have me protesting in the summer, uh, if I didn't have a life.

I love the photo of the statue in front of the Whitehouse as the birds are flying away - it looks like they got spooked by the 'horse'. CHARGE!

The White House

Ok, so if you've been to DC you probably have a shot similar to this! We were freezing as it was about 20 degrees!

Marcy & Co.

Byron and I pose at a little hole-in-the-wall Asian restaurant. Later we went to a bar with my high school friend, Jules, and her husband. I've known Jules for nearly 22 years! Man we're old - well, compared to 14!

The Library of Congress

This library aint just books! It's actually one of the most beautiful interiors I've ever seen.

Help, indeed!

Sometimes, when you drive around, you just see something funny! Who can't relate to this after a late night?

How ya like them ROCKS?

This museum houses the very famous Hope Diamond and several other beautiful gemstones & jewelry. The Hope Diamond was the referrence for Rose's heart-shaped diamond necklace in the movie Titanic. The collection was donated by the sons of the last owner - of course, she had sons because I'll bet a daughter would have KEPT these! LOL

Museum of Natural History

If you like animals and stuff found in the earth, this is the place for you! The Easter Island statue reminded us of the movie Night at the Museum with Ben Stiller, where he plays a museum guard, remember, "Gum, Gum from Dumb, Dumb".

Presidential Collage

I really don't know why this was hung up or what it was but we found it wondering the halls of the Archive building.

Well, WE Declare!

The Declaration of Independence. There are a few copies. Too cool to see them THAT close.

Smithson Tomb

This is the guy who started it all. A little creepy knowing that's where he is and it's a not a cemetary or anything.

Tour of the Info. Center

There are a lot of Lincoln 'death masks' taken BEFORE he died. This one contains the reflection of the windows above and in front of the glass. I love this!

Babe Ruth

I'm not a huge baseball fan but who wouldn't want to own a baseball signed by Babe Ruth? You know it's not a fake if you can see it here! Really cool!

The Lone Ranger

I haven't seen the Lone Ranger in years. Do they run it on TV Land? Well, who could forget the Lone Ranger's mask? That's what's so cool about the Smithsonian, you get to see things that are original and often remind you of your childhood. Hey, when are they going to come out with the Lone Ranger movie?

60 Minutes

Did you know that silly ol' 60 Minutes clock was a real live stopwatch? It was so tiny in real life! My parents watched that show every Sunday night and that's back in the days when there wasn't a TV in every room so that's what the whole family watched.
