I'm not a huge baseball fan but who wouldn't want to own a baseball signed by Babe Ruth? You know it's not a fake if you can see it here! Really cool!

The Lone Ranger

I haven't seen the Lone Ranger in years. Do they run it on TV Land? Well, who could forget the Lone Ranger's mask? That's what's so cool about the Smithsonian, you get to see things that are original and often remind you of your childhood. Hey, when are they going to come out with the Lone Ranger movie?

60 Minutes

Did you know that silly ol' 60 Minutes clock was a real live stopwatch? It was so tiny in real life! My parents watched that show every Sunday night and that's back in the days when there wasn't a TV in every room so that's what the whole family watched.

M*A*S*H

Byron and I love to watch old reruns of MASH! It seems like there are always episodes I've never seen before, I guess because the show ran for so long. I loved Hawkeye's one-liners and how they were able to make a show about war still be funny while still showing the serious side.

Archie Bunker's chair

I was born the year "All in the Family" premiered but I do remember the show and certainly have seen the reruns many times. The show still is classic. I saw this chair for the first time in 1987 so it's been in there for a long time.

The Puffy Shirt

We are huge Seinfeld fans so seeing this little piece of history was really cool. I guess you don't have to be that old in order to see something that reminds you of the past! If you don't know about the Puffy shirt episode I'm not sure where to start!

I grew up playing with Barbie's so this was a fun display for me. I wish I had the original like this one!

This was an original "Teddy" Bear from 1902, named after Pres. Teddy Roosevelt who once refained from shooting a bear cub on a hunting trip. A reporter got ahold of the story and that began America's love affair with the cuddly stuffed animal.

This was Louis Armstrong's original trumpet.

Now, this was my favorite part. I love pop culture and it was so fun to see things that you've seen many times before on TV or in the movies, etc.

Now for some FUN!

You know you are in D.C. when literally EVERY museum has something about Abe Lincoln in it - even the Air & Space Museum! Actually, they were remodeling the Museum of American History so they had a temporary set-up here.

Air & Space Museum

I have to be honest, the Air & Space Museum is not my favorite. I mean, they have awesome stuff for any aviation fan but I am not much of a fan. I love that airplanes get me where I want to go (most of the time) and it baffles me how the Wright Brothers figured some of this stuff out but beyond that my interest is mild at best. Byron, on the other hand, dreamed about being a pilot since he was a kid so he was overjoyed here. I did get some pretty photos so it wasn't too bad.
